1. My Name is Khan (2010)

A major part of this film was shot in San Francisco city. There were Iconic locations like the Golden Gate Bridge, Mission District, Nob Hill and Palace of fine arts were vividly shown in this movie. Remember the song ‘Tere Naina’? The popular San Francisco cable cars made an appearance here.

2. The Princess Diaries (2001)

This movie was every girl’s dream in the 2000s. It paints a picture of various parts of the city such as Lyon Street (Mia’s school), Nob Hill, and an Excelsior District Firehouse on Brazil Avenue (Mia’s home). Do you remember the popular arms wrestle of Julie Andrews and the Luchador? That was filmed in a vintage arcade on Fisherman’s Wharf called Musee Mecanique.

3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)

The special effects and set design made locations like the Twin Peaks, San Francisco zoo, Downtown as well as  The Golden Gate Bridge completely believable. A movie that brings varied flavours of The United States, Anjana Anjani does give the viewers a small peep of the San Francisco city. You can catch a glimpse of The Seven Sisters, Mission District as well as the very popular Golden Gate Bridge.
